Gluttony – Meat, Coffee and Cake

And the Husband got to choose…

There are three humans in our household and, as majority rules, the husband is usually outnumbered when it comes to decisions regarding where we eat. (Actually, me and the kid pretty much call rank on everything ha ha). Last weekend we let him choose our Saturday lunch destination and WOW, he can definitely pick the place!

We headed here Los Pampas Steakhouse (link), to sample seven differently prepared meats including steak, gammon, chicken, sausage and maple flavoured belly pork. Men would just appear at our table with two foot skews of delicious smelling offerings.

It wasn’t all about the meat though, in the middle of the room there was a brightly coloured salad and carbohydrate bar. Roast potatoes and rice, spiced green beans and minted peppers. Salsa, three different potato salads, creamy mushrooms and crisp bowls of lettuce and tomatoes. And so much more! Any sauce you could want and two large bowls of herby olives made my mouth water. I could have filled up at the bar, but the gammon and spicy sausage called to me.

The afternoon called for something sweet…

After all the salt for lunch, I called dibs on getting coffee and cake. In the theme of the day, we decided to try a coffee shop we’ve never been to before. We’ve driven past it a bunch of times but always gotten further down the road before remembering we were going to pop in.

I’m glad we did. The coffee was hot, strong and just what my taste buds needed. Despite all the food we had packed away earlier that day, we still ordered cake! I had a four tier Terry’s chocolate orange extravaganza. Them two ordered something rocky road and Biscoff related. Thankfully they provided us with a paper bag to take home the sections that told us our eyes had been far too big for our bellies.

The loyalty card will be stamped again, especially as the shop has a handy car park to stop in as you pass. Oh, and it’s dog friendly too! Winner all around!

So what did you stuff your faces with this weekend? Any cake you want to recommend?

Love always, Stacy xx
